Our work

The Church Family in Tuis

The Mission has a congregation that meets every week to a Christian celebration that includes Bible teaching, worship music, Bible School for kids and other special activities. In addition, the congregation has weekly groups for youth, ladies, Bible studies and also sports. The congregation is important because it links with the community and reaches out to many familias in the neighborhood.

Social Projects of the Mission

The Mission is continually interested in helping people with all types of needs. That is why we have a clothing bank, a fund for technical aid and a fund to help people who are in need of food. The aid is provided almost immediately for those who request it.

Social Involvement

The Chirripo Project

The Mission does at least 5 visits per year to the Chirripo Indigenous Reservation. In Costa Rica there are around 12 Indigenous groups. One such group are the Cabecar’s who live in the mountains of Turrialba. There are about 8000 people who live in separate small communities. They are considered the most primitive group of Costa Rica and therefore their needs and level of poverty are enormous.

Chirripo Project

The Mission has primarily worked with the Sinoli community (www.sinoli.wordpress.com). Each time that we go, we try to bring donated clothes, food, hygiene education programs, and since 2008 we have been accompanied by nurses who do check-ups with the children in the community.

Our main objective is to bring a word of hope and try to improve their quality of life a little. The trip to the reservation is long and tiring, but many visitors to the Mission have done it and describe it as inspiring.
